Danish experts share their experience in operating the renewable energy sources

09:34 - 09/03/2022

On 4/3/2022, under the Vietnam - Denmark Energy Partnership Programme in the period of 2020-2025 (DEPP3 Programme), the task force including experts from the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Danish Energy Agency, National Load Dispatch Centre (A0) worked with Daklak Power Company (PC Daklak) in order to share some experience in operating the renewable energy sources.

In the general report regarding the production situation, business activities, and renewable energy development in Daklak in the recent time, PC Daklak representative indicated, now, renewable electricity source was integrated into the grid managed by the Company, which included 3 Solar power plants with a total capacity of 110 MWp; 1 Wind power plant with capacity of 28.8 MW; 1 Hydropower plant 110kV with the capacity of 64 MW. Besides, this unit also manages 14 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 90 MW and 5.367 rooftop solar power projects with a total capacity of 650 MWp.
Danish experts worked with PC Daklak on 4/3/2022 under the DEPP3 program.
In order to manage, operate rooftop solar power systems conveniently, PC Daklak has equipped a telemetry system (DSPM) for 100% of projects under the medium voltage grid, served for collecting data.
PC Daklak representative also shared that since February 2022, Company has participated in the training, testing the rooftop solar power forecasting program transferred by National Load Dispatch Centre, estimated that would be officially applied in March 2022. “This program will help us forecast radiation, quantity more exactly in order to improve and enhance the quality of method-making, planning activities of all levels” – PC Daklak representative shared.
In this event, Danish experts discussed, shared the experience regarding the renewable energy sources development in Denmark, as well as some experience in operating, forecasting the agencies’ capacity, quantity in operating the internal electrical system. Experts highly appreciated the operating, regulating of the power system of PC Daklak, and assured that they would continue to cooperate, support agencies and PC Daklak under the DEPP project.
“Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership in the period of 2020 – 2025” (DEPP3 Program) includes 03 development engagements: Development engagement 1: Capacity Development for long-range energy sector planning, led by Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority (EREA), Ministry of Industry and Trade; Development engagement 2: Capacity Development for Renewable Energy Integration into the Power System; Development engagement 3: Low carbon development in the industrial sector with the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Department (EESD), Ministry of Industry and Trade.
And, Development engagement 2: Capacity Development for Renewable Energy Integration into the Power System, led by Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV), Ministry of Industry and Trade. The mission of this development engagement is to build and complete the transparent regulatory framework in line with international standards in place for efficient, secure, and market-based integration of variable renewable energy (VRE) generation in the power system.
